Japan's core machinery orders rose 7% month-on-month to '992.9 billion in October 2025, accelerating from a 4.2% increase in September and marking the highest level since March. The headline gain was driven by a sharp rebound in non-manufacturing demand, where orders surged 28.8% to '551.7 billion, led by strong growth in information services, goods leasing, transportation, telecommunications, and textiles. In contrast, manufacturing orders declined 13.3% to '446.5 billion, partly offsetting the overall rise. On a year-on-year basis, private-sector machinery orders climbed 12.5% in October, improving from an 11.6% increase in September.
