Economic Buzz: UK retail sales slip 1.1% on month in Oct-25

UK retail sales dipped for the first time in five months in October as consumers delayed their spending ahead of the Black Friday, the Office for National Statistics said on Friday. Retail sales fell 1.1 percent on a monthly basis in October, in contrast to the 0.7 percent rise in September. Excluding automotive fuel, UK retail sales saw a monthly drop of 1.0 percent after a 0.7 percent rise in September. Food store sales fell 1.1 percent and non-food store sales decreased 0.6 percent in October. Automotive fuel sales saw a 2.4 percent decrease.
